Common Client Issues

Problem: If your Behemoth Reloaded game fails to open after installation or becomes stuck when you click "Start" on the launcher.

 Solution:
 
 - Right-click on your Behemoth Reloaded game, then select "Properties."
 - Next, click on "Open file location."
 - In your Behemoth Reloaded file folder, locate the "Open setup application."
 - On the "Graphics" tab, under "Graphics device," click on the drop-down menu and select the 3rd or 4th option.
 - Click "Apply." If you receive an error message, ignore it and click "OK."
 - Relaunch your game.

Problem: Antivirus flags bRE.exe and Behemoth Reloaded.exe as insecure software or virus

Solution:

- Ensure your antivirus is updated.
- Add game client folder, bRE.exe, and Behemoth Reloaded.exe to antivirus exceptions.

Problem: Gepard Shield stuck on loading screen with no error messages

Solution:

- Run Setup.exe from the Behemoth Reloaded folder and try these options:
- Adjust Resolution and Graphic Device.
- Uncheck Play in Full Screen.
- Disable sound.
- Select "Delete all Ragnarok-related settings (factory reset)".

Problem: Gepard Shield error about illegal software

Solution:

- Some mouse and keyboard software may trigger this error. Close any such software before launching the game.

Problem: Gepard can't validate license on the server

Solution:

- Check your internet connection.
- Add game client folder, bRE.exe, and Behemoth Reloaded.exe to antivirus and firewall exceptions.

Problem: Low FPS or freezes on Windows 10/11 with Nvidia graphics

Solution:

- Open Nvidia Control Panel and adjust 3D settings for bRE.exe:
- Set Max Frame Rate to 60 FPS.
- Set Monitor Technology to Fixed Refresh.
- Set Preferred Refresh Rate to Application-controlled.
- Set Vertical Sync to Use the 3D-application setting.
- Update Nvidia drivers if these options are not available.

Problem: Cannot init d3d OR grf file has problem

Solution:

1. Right-click on Setup.exe and select "Run as Administrator".
2. Change Graphics API from DirectX9 to DirectX7 in settings and save changes.
3. Start Patcher.exe after making changes.

General Tips:

Solution:

- Always run bRE.exe, Setup.exe, or Behemoth Reloaded.exe as an administrator.
- Set Compatibility mode to Windows 7 or Windows XP Service Pack 3 for bRE.exe.
- Install the game outside of Program Files, e.g., C:\Games\.
- Disable antivirus and firewall temporarily, especially Avast and McAfee.
- Uninstall Warsaw (banking software) if encountering issues.

Add gray map GRF

- Download the GRF file: First, you need to download the gray map GRF file from a trusted source.
- Place the extracted GRF file on your desktop or in a location where you can easily access it.

- Locate the Ragnarok Client Folder and open it.

- Put the GRF file inside the Client Folder: Once you've located the client folder, open it. Inside, you should see several files and folders related to the game. Simply drag and drop the extracted GRF file into this folder. Alternatively, you can copy and paste it into the folder.

- Open the DATA file: Within the client folder, there should be a file named "DATA." This file contains a list of GRF files that the game client loads when it starts.

- Edit the DATA file: Open the DATA file using a text editor like Notepad on Windows. You'll see a list of GRF files, each on a separate line. Add your downloaded GRF file at the top of this list, ensuring it is listed as number 0. If there are numbers next to the GRF files, make sure to adjust them accordingly so that your new GRF file is first in the list.

- Make sure it is listed like this:

[Data]
0=[your grf file name]
1=thallo.grf
2=brdata.grf
3=data.grf
4=rdata.grf
5=bpal.grf

- Save the changes: After adding your GRF file to the list, save the changes you made to the DATA file. Make sure to save it as a plain text file (.txt) if prompted.

- Re-open the game client: Finally, close any instances of the game client that are currently running and re-open it. The gray map GRF should now be loaded and applied to your game client. You should see the changes reflected in the game's map interface.
